Jeytte (3.5e Race)
Jeytte
Personality
A jeytte is a reclusive being, and tends not speak much to any one. Their disposition is cold and they tend to better followers than leaders. A jeytte makes an excellent underling, but a mediocre chieftain. Their are few, if any jeytte communities and most jeytte prefer to live their lives in seclusion, much like their giant cousins. Though reclusive, some of the jeytte have been known to disregard others by way of raiding their communities. A jeytte can be as fierce as an Orc or a passive as an elf, normally depending on their regions. It is not unusual to find jeytte within human communities many of their race has adapted to living along side humans.
Physical Description
The average jeytte stands somewhere between 8 to 10 feet tall, and weighs on average between 310 to 430 pounds. Jeytte females tend to be taller than the males as well as lighter. Jeytte are known for their long hair, which grows around their head and chin, like most other races, the beard is often a sign of a males position, the longer the beard and hair, the more of a challenge the jeytte presents to its enemies. A jeytte normally has pale or light blue skin. It is uncommon to find any eye color other than brown among jeytte, but their have been cases of green and blue eye colors. A jeytte is very similar in appearance to a man, with similar density and bone structure, you may not even be able to tell them apart if not for the jeytte's height and beard size. Male jeytte have harder facial features, larger noses, and smaller eyes, while females do not. In the farthest reaches of the Stora Höglandet they have been known to grow large horns similar to a bull's.
Relations
Dwarfs: The jeytte have been known to establish contact with dwarf miners, even on some occasion joining them underground. Like most other races, the dwarves have no definitive opinion of the jeytte, since they're race is only found in the Stora Höglandet and they normally act as silent humans. Dwarves have been known to mistake the jeytte with giants, since they are sometimes just as reclusive and aggressive as them. The dwarves have noted that the jeytte do make for useful laborers, and have been known to use them for clearing subterranean areas.
Humans: Humans of the Stora Höglandet treat Jeytte like most other men and find them to be useful as laborers and warriors. Much of the human communities have Jeytte populations and in some cases Jeytte lead the communities. Though they are fewer Jeytte than humans, the men treat most of those living among them as equals, if not superiors. "Wild" Jeytte are both feared and desired; many of the hunters of the Highlands search for them in hopes of taking their heads as trophies.
Elves: The Elves of the Stora Höglandet are a mystery to most of the inhabitants of the lands. The scholars there believe that the Elves once thrived in the lower flat lands, where the humans now reign, but later retreated to the mountains after a period of desolation for their race. Those still living are said to belong to self sufficient tightly knit tribes which seclude themselves from contact with any other races. "Wild" Jeytte are said to dwell in these areas, so many believe that at some point the two races probably have come in contact with each other, whether it be for better or for worse is unknown.
Alignment
Most jeytte are neutral, but can sway to either moral persuasion. A jeytte could be a roaming savage, killing and taking whatever they desire, or they could be a paladin in service of a human Jarl.
Lands
Jeytte live all around the Stora Höglandet, in the human flat lands and the indigenous mountain lands. The origin of their race is believed to be within the mountains of the Highlands, the more populace of their Giant cousins.
Religion
Civilized jeytte follow the religions of the humans of the Stora Höglandet, which currently means most of them follow Pelor, which has swept the lands violently. Those of them who do not are either banished by the reigning human kings like any other nonbeliever. Those wild of them are normally found worshiping the old beliefs of Bahamut or no beliefs at all.

Civilized jeytte will often take common as their main language, but a jeytte's traditional language is Giant.
