When the Blood War spilled onto the material plane, the horrendous nature of both sides spread into the general populace as well. The atrocities committed were unspeakable and many innocent men and women died in the ensuing tide of hatred and fear. From these blackened wells of human suffering arose a race of powerful humanoids, their souls charred but not entirely consumed by the fires that birthed them.
Infernal blooded wander the world, unable to hide themselves in any place for long. Even among tieflings and other such dark looking folk, infernal blooded find themselves extradited as their nature becomes evident in everything they say or do. Though their differences are somewhat subtle (strange eye color, enlarged teeth, the slightest protrusion of horns, and the like), the very aura about them is enough to ward even the most stalwart of companions to be wary of their companion. Infernal blooded live lives of hardship and pain, always proving and then reproving themselves to companions and allies who seem convinced that there is still a shadow of their forbears hanging over them.
Play as a infernal blooded if you want...
- To be mysterious, free spirited, and unpredictable.
- To play an antihero with a dark past of infernal influence.
- To be a part of a race that favors the barbarian, avenger, warlord, and warlock classes.
Physical Qualities
Infernal blooded never look exactly alike, and even those with similar features have at least one glaring difference. Eye colors shade from black to crimson to acid green, and pearlescent fangs sprout where human canines grow in natural races. Demon descendants sometimes have clawed hands and patches of sharklike skin, while devil sons and daughters can grow small horns and spread batlike wings when they reach a certain age. Skin can range from a death shroud pale to a near midnight black, but are in most cases similar to humans in their skin tone range.
Playing as a Infernal Blooded
Your life has been one long challenge, to prove yourself to others, and to escape when you fail to do so. So constant have the assaults and routines been that all the days have blended together into one long day of night. Perhaps you've even set up safe houses and check points in familiar areas where you may rest from the prying eyes of those who hunt you. You have had instances when you had friends and close allies, but because of your nature you quickly become an inconvenience to any adventuring party that takes you in. Nevertheless, you look ahead with determination, knowing full well after all these years that the night is darkest just before the dawn.
Infernal Blooded Characteristics: Infernal blooded usually come across tired or weary, having walked a long and painful road from their birth. Even those who have turned their back on the ways of good fight almost as though they were doing so for the fiftieth time in as many days. Nevertheless, a lesson taught early in their lives is that the enemy cares not when you are tired. Infernal blooded who are good aligned by some measure attempt to take as few innocent lives as possible, while evil aligned are roaming slaughterhouses. One glaring hand me down from their parenting is the hatred of their blood rivals, and infernal blooded of hellish and abyssal heritage, no matter the alignment, look to annihilate the others at any cost to themselves.

Infernal Blooded Adventurers
Three sample Infernal Blooded adventurers are described below.
Kring is a Hellish descended Infernal Blooded leading a small group of mercenaries known as Black Strike. His friends among his team support him and defend him, but nonetheless, Kring usually hides behind emissaries and doubles when he gathers work for his team. Though he enjoys his life and the companionship it brings, Kring has been gearing Black Strike's assignments toward a more personal goal with every mission. The Hellish commando hopes to one day slay the devil that gave him life, and do what he can to stop any other life from being cursed as his has.
Mako was once a happy little girl, living in a small village on the outskirts of a mighty kingdom. When the paladins arrived, she rushed out to meet them, excited at their appearance and the concept of adventurers. She still carries the scars, both mental and physical, of what those paladins did to her, her family, and her village for harboring what they considered an abomination. She is quiet and withdrawn, even fighting in complete silence. Her allies don't realize the true extent of what happened, and probably never will if Mako has her way. However, her mind is far from silent, constantly plotting against those who ruined her life in a manner that would make her devil father proud.
Forrok's life in the shady slums of a pirate port city hasn't always been so comfortable. But then, all he has to remind him are scars. His first memory of the life he used to lead, whatever it was, was him awakening with a cracked skull at the bottom deck of a sailing ship owned by a benevolent human captain. Jumping ship at the first opportunity, Forrok began to make himself comfortable, gambling at a bar by the wharves and swindling the big wigs of the town. He lives in comfort and style, not even bothering to hide his identity, safe behind his extravagance and the seedy background of his chosen home. If it weren't for the demonic whispers that haunt his waking moments and dreams, life could be almost normal.
