Hook (3.5e Equipment)
Hooks are most commonly used as tools of trade by various laborers, including fishermen. They can serve as weapons in a pinch, and some blacksmiths forge specialized hooks precisely for this purpose. A combat hook can vary in design greatly: some have elaborate handguards, while others are little more than iron crooks with a handle.

You can use a hook to make trip attacks. If you are tripped during your own trip attempt, you can drop the hook to avoid being tripped.
