Heavy Armor Modification

Prerequisites: Proficiency with heavy armor and smith's tools
After tinkering around with Heavy Armor and observing how you might improve it, you gain the ability to modify armor using smith's tools in ways that others haven't thought of. You gain the following:

  • You now have the ability to modify heavy armor to be used for stealth situations. Modifying armor in this way requires 2 (1d4) hours and the modified armor no longer gives you disadvantage to Dexterity (Stealth) checks, but reduces the armors' AC by 1.
  • You now have the ability to modify heavy armor to have offensive capabilities. Modifying armor in this way requires 3 (1d6 - 1(Minimum of 1)) hours and the modified armor deals 2 (1d4) piercing damage to an attacker that makes a melee attack against you with a weapon, hit or miss.
  • You now have the ability to modify heavy armor with improved resistance capabilities. Modifying armor in this way requires 30 (1d20 + 18) minutes and requires 10 pounds of powdered silver. After applying this coating to your armor, you may resist one of the following damage types while wearing that armor: fire, lightning, or cold.

Heavy Armor modified in this manner is considered a new type of armor, Modified Heavy Armor, which you gain proficiency with.

You may take time to un-modify armor that has been modified in 2(1d4) days. Modified heavy armor may only have 1 modification at a time. If you attempt to modify armor that already has a modification, roll a d100. On a result of 50 or less, the armor is destroyed and unusable. On a result above 50, the armor receives the new modification and loses the previous one.
