Greater Dragonborn (5e Race Variant)

Dragonborn Variant

The common sentiment in the D&D community seems to be that the dragonborn race is underpowered compared to other races presented in the System Reference Document. The traits presented here are meant to give the dragonborn a small boost to bring the race to a closer power level to the other core races.

The greater dragonborn gains the two following traits in addition to the traits presented in the SRD:

Darkvision. Your draconic ancestry has granted you superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Draconic Toughness. Your hit point maximum increases by 1, and it increases by 1 every time you gain a level.

Additionally, the Breath Weapon trait increases in damage to 3d6 at 5th level, 4d6 at 9th level, 5d6 at 13th level, and 6d6 at 17th level, instead of the progression presented in the SRD.

gollark: ```haskellclass Monad monadic where (>>=) :: monadic apples -> (apples -> monadic burritos) -> monadic burritos return :: burritos -> monadic burritos```
gollark: Anyone can invent monads. They are simply burritos.
gollark: It's not the dual of monad. It'd be the same as monads, but backwards, so nobody is scared by it.
gollark: Nobody will notice.
gollark: Don't call them monads, call them sdanom.
