There are times when a crazed mage creates a golem with the soul of a kidnapped child. The child's cries fall on deaf ears as the bodies of both body and mortal are fused together. The now-sterile being is not of the race the child that was before, but a new being made from a madman. A Golem-Blooded. They retain their former personalities, but find that their ex-homes before their creation make a Golem-Blooded a pariah of sorts, a unintentional renegade of his/her former kin.
Play a Golem-Blooded if you want...
- To have skin harder than stone.
- To reinvent a lost reality of a child.
- To be hated by most but a trusted few.
- To be a member of a race that favors the Fighter, Runepriest, Wizard, and Psion classes.
Physical Qualities
Golem-Blooded have an outer form similar to a stone or iron golem, but molded to either male or female specifics. They almost always have no nose, having a rather crudely hinged jaw, forcing a large underbite on the individual's face. Interestingly, the soul of the child makes his/her eye color of any color in existence. They have no hair. They age much slower than humanity, making it so they are at adulthood around 6 years old, and Golem-Blooded can live in a timespan around 5000 years.
Playing a Golem-Blooded
In an act of fear, a Golem-Blooded attempts to hide his/her existence with a hood or other means of hiding (e.g. Illusions). They fear others, usually for the thought of others being like his/her creator, or, even worse, rejection for being an abomination. If anyone gets to befriend a Golem-Blooded (harder than it sounds), the golem-blooded's loyalty is unmatched. Having the memories of the past in front of them makes them depressed, mostly because that the kidnapped soul is considered dead after so long. Golem-Blooded hate their own existence most of the time, but won't want to die until they can find a way to regain their forgotten forms.
Golem-Blooded Characteristics: Depressed, Wise, Studious, Curious, Tough, Easily Angered, Serious, Focused
Golem-Blooded Names: Sometimes, they can remember their past names (of another race), so they continue to use those names. On the other hand, some Golem-Blooded cannot remember and adopt a name that describes them.
Golem-Blooded Adventurers
Three sample Golem-Blooded adventurers are described below.
Tartaross is a Golem-Blooded Runepriest of Moradin. Being a male dwarven child, he was swiftly taken by a mysterious Archmage called, "The Silver God". As a Golem-Blooded, his father, the King Hephestos himself, mourned his son's apparent death. This made Tartaross want to reforge a new body for himself to inhabit when the time comes. Moradin, noticing the child wanting to see his father again, gave him the ability to read and write powerful runes of Supernal to help accomplish his goal...
Kairi is a Golem-Blooded Psion that used to be a female elf. Kidnapped by an unknown entity when she discovered her psionic powers, she decided she was too much of an exile from her people anyway, so she attempted to create a new life from her old mental and physical ruins. She also gains visionary voices from her kidnapper, and wants to find out who it is at any cost...
Hermes is a Golem-Blooded Fighter who used to be a male gnome. He cannot remember anything about himself, due to a faulty fusion, and believes that this is the way he's always been. He does not understand what he as viewed as, either...
