God Of War

Onward into the heart of the battle fought the Sons Of Odin even though they were out numbered. Blood poured forth from their wounds deep into the earth. Hela awaited for the broken bodies of the Sons to fall into her domain, but Odin claimed them that day for the glory of Valhalla. And in their hour of need Odin sent forth unto them, THE BERSERKER RAGE. Now gods and men, they rose up from the ground screaming like wild animals, such is the gift of absolute power no blade or weapon would harm them. They killed them and horses alike and all who stood before them died that day.
—Thurmin, human, bard, Son Of Odin, Manowar song

Becoming a God Of War

The gift of absolute power is given only to the worthy. Barbarians who die in battle and are raised again can serve as a God of War for Odin. They gain more power and durability and even brief moments of immortality.

Class Features

All of the following are class features of the God Of War.

Rage and DR (Ex): Your levels in God of War counts as a level of Barbarian for the purposes of determining your Rage ability bonuses and your damage reduction. You do not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained.

Vicious Strikes (Ex): At level 1, Odin bestows the gift of unmatched battle prowess. Any weapons wielded by a God of War are considered Anarchic and Cold Iron for the purposes of damage reduction.

Iron Skin or Iron Blows (Ex): At level 2, if the God of War is using his Rage ability, he gains Damage Reduction 1/- per two God of War levels (Max DR 3/-) for the duration of his Rage. This damage reduction stacks with the damage reduction from Barbarian class levels. If the God of War uses the Immortal ability, for the rest of the Rage or until he dies, the God of War replaces the bonus damage reduction gained from this ability with a damage modifier equal to +1/class level.

Immortal (Su): At level 2, the God of War can become invulnerable briefly at the cost of his durability. As an immediate action, for 1 full round the God Of War is invulnerable to all forms of damage. (Invulnerability to damage does not mean the God of War is immune to non damaging spell effects or abilities such as Charm Person, Reduce Person, Eyebite, etc... with the exception of all death spells, magical death effects, energy drain, and any negative energy effects.) Daily uses, 2nd level 1/day, 4rd level 2/day, and 6th level 3/day.

Thundering Blows (Ex): At level 4, the God of War's weapons are treated as if created by the smiths of Asgard. Any weapon wielded by a God of War deal an additional 1d6 sonic damage, and are treated as if they had the special ability Thundering.

Unhindered Rage (Su): At level 5, a God of War's Rage cannot be subdued. While you are using the Rage ability, it gives no penalty to AC, you are under the effects of a Freedom of Movement spell, and you gain Spell Resistance equal to your class level + con modifier.

Ragnarok (Su): At level 7, a God of War can raise the dead to live and fight again. 1/week, if the God Of War or one of his allies dies in battle within 50ft of him, the God Of War can bring them or himself back to life. On a dead ally who has died in battle within one hour, the God of War can cast as a standard action the True Resurrection spell. If the God of War dies in battle, the God of War has one hour to choose to be raised from the dead as if with a Resurrection spell. If the God of War chooses to raise himself, he will be raised from the dead one round after his decision. One round after Ragnarok revives someone, three monsters of your choice from the spell Summon Monster IX are summoned into existence to fight for you. These monsters disappear when combat ends.

Ex-Gods Of War

A God of War who becomes lawful loses the ability to use Rage, Immortal, Thundering Blows, and Ragnarok and cannot gain more levels as a God of War. He retains all the other benefits of the class (damage reduction, elemental strikes, absolute power). If the God Of War becomes non-lawful, he can regain the favor of Odin by completing a quest given to him by Odin.

gollark: I mean, Android is "Linux". Yet it's horrible and you basically can't do anything.
gollark: it is "Linux", but many of them come with locked down configurations, and I don't think you can access Linuxy features meaningfully.
gollark: Oh, the other thing.
gollark: I'm sorry, but Chromebooks *do* actually exist and many schools use them.
gollark: I mostly don't mind the bad specs as much as the slow death of general purpose computers.
