Giant Frog (3.5e Creature)

When you look at a normal frog, one that's only a few inches long, it's easy to forget that the docile green amphibian resting lazily at the edge of the stream is an ambush predator who is secretly a cross between a ninja with a grappling hook and a black hole. When the rare example grows to the size of a horse, however, they remind unwary adventurers that anything can be dangerous.

More information...

Any of a variety of frogs, grown to enormous size. These are generally smooth-skinned, green amphibians that weigh in anywhere from 1800 to 2000 lbs.

Combat

An ambush predator, a giant frog will hide until the opponent is close enough for it to use its deadly tongue to make a grapple attempt. Upon snaring a target, the giant frog will draw the victim in and attempt to use its Swallow ability. Upon a successful Improved Grab/Swallow combination, the giant frog will continue to attempt Improved Grab attacks against each opponent within range until engaged in direct combat. When surprised or under attack, the giant frog will use its Great Leap ability to flee from opponents, also climbing or swimming at its maximum speed.

Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, a giant frog must hit with its tongue attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple check, it establishes a hold with its tongue.

Swallow (Ex): If a giant frog has established a grapple with another creature, it makes another grapple check on its next turn in order to draw that creature into its mouth. A creature starting its turn inside a giant frog's mouth is automatically dealt damage equal to that of the giant frog's bite attack every round, until it or the giant frog is dead, or until it is released. The giant frog may swallow a creature of up to Medium size.

A creature inside a giant frog's gizzard may continue attacking it, but each swallowed creature takes 1d12+2 acid damage and 2d6+6 bludgeoning damage each round. The giant frog loses its Dexterity bonus to Armor Class against any attack made by a swallowed opponent.

Great Leap (Ex): Giant frogs possess incredibly powerful hind legs that allow them to make Jump checks without getting a running start at no penalty.

Skills: Giant frogs have a +16 racial bonus on Climb, Hide, Jump and Swim checks. Giant frogs can always choose to take 10 on a Climb, Jump, or Swim check, even if rushed or threatened.

gollark: But that code should also have its own compile-time macros, to infinite depth.
gollark: It should also be possible to execute code at compile time to manipulate these.
gollark: Function pointers are just profunctors in the bidirectional category of prepromorphisms.
gollark: It would have been *hilarious* if I had made macron beforehand so I could sell it to lyricly for 91826189 apioforms, but alas.
gollark: LyricLy has slightly over two hours.
