Getting Started (Paramýth Supplement)

Narrative Causality

The history of Paramýth is very rich and full, with many points in which the Players could involve themselves. However, many points in history are prone to changing the future of the setting. Let your players change the setting if they choose; it's their game. The following are categories for the types of quests your players might be interested in in their Paramýth campaign.

Quests

Each quest is labeled by what type of quest it is.

  • Your players are a group of mercenaries in Sevatim/Tiefling Lands/Kallaten who are hired to hunt down an aasimar mass murderer named Merek Ill'sa, who killed his parents and guards, and escaped into the Tiefling Lands. Your players must chase him across the Badlands and into Morteim. Note that the players should not succeed, but they may join into the Second Mortein War. (General)
  • Your players are members of the Red Dragons' Auxiliary Century during Operation Groundwater. What the PC's are assigned to do depends on the players, whether they would enjoy exploring tunnels and taking over depots, sacking the surrounding land, etc. Eventually the PC's participate in the Battle of Drakon Pass. (Military, Exploration, Large Scale)
  • Your players are investigating the disappearance and murder of a notable member of society. His body was discovered dismembered, with the intestines removed and wrapped around his torso, and his heart in his mouth (feel free to add more details or less. The objective is horror.) Detect magic reveals that magic was used, but not of any kind that the mage recognizes. Investigations lead to numerous cults around Paramýth, slowly nearing the Nameless Lake. Over the course of the investigation, the PCs run into monstrous abominations and slowly find more and more information on Chrlnkhlahl and the Tchrelenites. Each cult that the PCs run into should have a different name, but the final cult should be named the Cult of Nil'esipa. Eventually the PCs confront Chrlnkhlahl himself. For inspiration, look at the Call of Cthulhu RPG. (Mystery, Horror)
  • Your players are Kallaten pirates operating out of Menedek. 'nuff said. (Nautical, General)
  • Your players are Vackel soldiers/Tiefling/Aasimar aiding in the pacification/colonization of Paramýth. (Military, Exploration, General)

gollark: Yes, that would be ridiculous; like I said, it is NOT libevilpotatos OR obfuscation to disguise NONEXISTENT evil parts.
gollark: No, rewrite C in Perl.
gollark: Defensive programming for non-evil components.
gollark: Not evil, I *said*. I was very clear. This is NOT installing rootkits or any other malware on your computer.
gollark: As I said, it is NOT obfuscation for evil bits.
