Gauss Rifle (Fallout Supplement)

Gauss rifles, named after Carl Friedrich Gauss who formulated the math underlying the principle of coilguns, are a type of energy weapon that uses electromagnetic projectile accelerator coils configured as a linear motor to accelerate ferromagnetic of conductive projectiles at extreme velocities just under the speed of light. Though historically nonviable due to a number of difficulties, German and Chinese scientists were finally able to produce functional Gauss weapons in the 21st century, though in limited supply.
