Fornraeth (3.5e Race)

Fornraeth

Personality

Fornraeth are demons that come from the peak of an unknown mountain that is so remote and cold that no mortals can reach it. This was intentional from the very first time they arrived in the mortal realm. Nevertheless, they leave their hiding spot, and try to fit into their surroundings, acting as any other mortal would, or, at least, more like a mortal than they were in their homeland.

Physical Description

Fornraeth are not unlike elves, averaging 5 to 5 1/2 feet. Their weight, however, is more akin to a humans varying between 130 to 200 pounds. Females are about a quarter inch shorter and 5 pounds lighter than their male counterparts. Fornraeth are often short, steady, and well balanced with rarely seen maroon hair that darkens as they mature, eventually becoming totally black. Their skin is an ashen black color that can become crackled with red as they age, though it's incredibly rare. Fornraeth typically have dark, or light-red eyes. In general, they look like humanoid demons without horns. Also, rather than albinos, they have what they call "loss flad", or "snow skinned" in elven. This means their skin, eyes, hair, etc. are inverted, but not precisely so; they are 'snow skinned', and look like ice demons.

They wear normal clothes, but in the south you can catch them freezing their clothes to keep cool or even cold, as they very uncomfortable in hot weather.

A Fornraeth reaches adulthood at age 140, and are immortal in their own realm. Here they live up to about 750-1000 years.

Relations

Fornraeth get along with many friendly creatures and pointy-eared races, as this often an indicates a non-human, half-orcs, and dwarves. They despise humans for an unknown reason, but, it is possible for a Fornraeth to befriend a human.

Alignment

Fornraeth can be any alignment, but the majority find themselves on the evil or neutral portions of the spectrum.

Lands

Fornraeth like the cold, so they usually live in the north. Their own realm is rumored to be an icy wasteland, but, fornraeth citizens refuse to speak of it.

Religion

Fornraeth don't predominantly worship one deity, but most choose to worship none.

Language

Fornraeth speak Elven, Draconic, and other creature-based languages.

Everyone in the mortal realm lacks the necessary tongue to say any Fornraethan names, so they prefer to use elven names.
