The Fochlucan scholar is a handyman both feared and welcomed among great kings, revered by the common folk and famous for knowing unfathomable lore from erased lands. The Fochlucan scholar seeks information, embraces new knowledge, applies it on the battlefield and spreads rumors to control the environment. She often tends to supervise adventurers groups as common bards do, in order to lead them to right place in front of the right threat and protect the interests of the Fochlucan.

Becoming a Fochlucan Scholar

Getting the approbation of one of the master of the Fochlucan College is the sign of a great mastery of magic, diplomacy and combatant might. Similarly to their fellow Fochlucan Lyrist, one will suffer a tremendous hardship practicing all fields at the same time. The Fochlucan scholar gets selected by demonstrating her volition to perfect her knowledges, cry crocodile tears while singing her foe’s despair and ripping off its limbs or even meld in a crowd expecting the right moment to pounce on her prey. The harsh scrutiny of Fochlucan masters often repels uninformed candidates.

Spellcasting:	Ability to cast 1st-level arcane and divine spells.
Special:	Bardic knowledge and evasion abilities. Must know at least 5 languages including druidic or 8 languages.

Class Features

All of the following are class features of the Fochlucan Scholar prestige class.

Weapon and Armor: Fochlucan scholars gain no proficiency with any weapon or armor.

Spells per Day/Spells Known: At each level, a Fochlucan scholar gains new spells per day (and spells known, if applicable) as if she had also gained a level in any one arcane spellcasting class and any one divine spellcasting class to which she belonged before adding the prestige class level. She does not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If she had more than one arcane spellcasting class or divine spellcasting class before becoming a Fochlucan scholar, she must decide to which class to add each Fochlucan scholar level for the purpose of determining spells per day, spells known, and overall caster level.

Bardic Knowledge (Ex): A Fochlucan scholar can attempt to recall some relevant piece of information about local notable people, legendary items, or noteworthy places. See the bard class feature, page 28 of the Player's Handbook. She adds her Fochlucan scholar class level to her bardic knowledge checks, so her bardic knowledge checks have a bonus equal to her bard level + her Fochlucan scholar level + her Int modifier.

Bardic Music: A Fochlucan scholar adds her Fochlucan scholar level to her bard level to determine the number of times per day she can use her bardic music, the bardic music abilities she can employ, and the power of those abilities.

Erudition: At 2^nd level and each even level after this one, a Fochlucan scholar gains a new Skill Focus feat to apply to any of her class skills.
