Flora

Edible

These are the plants you can(relatively) safely eat.

Flesh Buds

A popular crop among most of the surviving farmlands found in thri-manipulus clan territory. Much akin to a grape, besides being the size of a peach, being much mushier, and tasting almost like pork, hence the name.

While in no way, shape, or form a delicacy, it remains popular due likely to not being very hard to grow and the ability to dehydrate it without ruining the pods, making more, longer lasting rations.

Settler's Trap

A rather hated crop, at least by outsiders, for a lack of a better term.

A small, rough, and wire-like root, spotted by the large quantity of blue flowers, referred to as settler's bait, sprouting above it. While very filling, as well as taking some of the scurvy-warding effects of citrus, it comes at something of a cost. If eaten in large quantities(half the root in one sitting, maximum), the consumer is very likely to develop fatal stomach diseases. The thri-manipulus seem to be immune to these, however.

Not Edible

These? Much less safe.

gollark: You can disable that in your copy. This is a testing version.
gollark: Yes, it is very order-sensitive.
gollark: I think a forgiving-grudger-type strategy plus beeoid replication plus possibly identification of other instances of itself plus direct RNG meddling could work well.
gollark: I was writing bad C in Lisp earlier, but that failed.
gollark: Yep.
