A bird of prey, with a maximum wingspan of 6ft. They hunt by flying high looking for prey, usually other birds, and then diving towards their quarry. SEE WIKIPEDIA ENTRY: Falcon

If a falcon is chosen as a familiar for a sorcerer or wizard, it gives the sorcerer or wizard a +2 on initiative checks. A falcon, being a bird of prey, has Flyby Attack as a bonus feat.

Combat

They use ambush tactics to snatch smaller birds from the sky. They combine two talons into the same attack. When they dive down, their claw attacks become more powerful.

Dive (Ex): A falcon is able to slip into a high-velocity dive. Once they get up to speed, they can dive at about 200 miles per hour. At any time, a falcon can dive at three times their normal flying speed, instead of only twice the speed.

Falcons can grow up to large size and more in fantasy worlds, typically becoming Dire Falcons.
