Elven Truesteel (3.5e Equipment)
Elven truesteel is the common name given to a specially treated form of mithral produced by the greatest master smiths of the elves. Like the heavenly metal aurorum (from the Book of Exalted Deeds), items forged of elven steel have the remarkable ability to reform if its pieces are brought back together as a full-round action. The pieces bond quickly and seemlessly, restoring the item to its original splendor after a few moments, including any magical enchantments it may have possessed!

This page is of questionable balance. Reason: WTF people! You gave it keen and a crit range increase (would cost a minimum of 9k if magically enhanced just for the keen) and you make it cost 1k? At a minimum you should multiply the material bonus by 3 to 27k just for the keen, the step increase would be another 30k easy. Not to mention its better than mithril with only a little more cost?

What's more, bladed weapons made primarily of elven steel are exceptionally sharp, gaining the benefit of the keen weapon quality while also increasing its critical multiplier by 1. Armor and shields also benefit from the fabled metal, receiving the following benefits: Heavy armor is treated as medium armor, and medium armor is treated as light armor. Spell failure chances are reduced by 15%, maximum Dexterity is increased by 2, and armor check penalties are lowered by 3 (to a minimum of 0).
Items forged from elven truesteel are considered masterwork quality. Additionally, any piece of armor or weapon made of elven truesteel grants a +1 morale bonus to Leadership scores (to a maximum of +3) when dealing with elven followers and cohorts.
Elven truesteel has 30 hit points per inch of thickness and a hardness of 15. It also has the equivalence of fast healing 10, but only for the item itself.
