Physical Description

Educated Leeches generally appear to be little more than a typical European medical leech, albeit drastically larger to the point of often being well over 20 feet long. They tend to hold themselves in an upright position that makes them appear to be vaguely humanoid, although they still move by writhing and crawling like any other leech.

History

An Educated Leech is born when a normal leech manages to feed on the blood of a powerful magical creature with innate magical properties. Not only does the consumption of the host's magical blood increase the leech's size massively, but it also allows them to take on a fraction of the host's intelligence and power.

Society

As Educated Leeches are born from magical anomalies they are incredibly rare and thus do not have any real societies - their newfound intelligence leads them to seek out other intelligent creatures in hopes of interact with and learning from them, but their grotesque appearance prevents them from being accept by those they wish to learn from. This often leads to Educated Leeches living lonely lives isolated from the rest of the world.

Educated Leech Names

Typically, Educated Leeches will simply name themselves after the first thing they see after achieving sapience. Simple namessuch as "Log" "Stone" "Mushroom" and "Bird" are the most common. Much like typical leeches Educated Leeches are hermaphroditic, and as such do not use sex-specific names.
