Evershift Companion: Nature Bound Druids do not receive the normal Animal Companion; instead they are accompanied by a spirit of nature that shares their shape-shifting nature. This spirit can adopt the form of any normal animal with HD equal to 1/2 of the character's level. While in this animal's form the spirit uses all of the statistics listed in the Monster's Manual except that it's type becomes Shapechanger. The spirit can change it's form any number of times per day; but doing so takes a full round. Evershifting Companions benefit from the Link special rule as detailed in the Players handbook; but they do not receive any other benefits as the druid increases in level.
Natural Commune: Nature Bound Druids do not benefit from Wild Empathy; instead they may speak with animals or plants (as the respective spells) as a Supernatural ability.
Sense Extreme: Tied to neutrality as they are; a Nature Bound Druid can sense extremes of good or evil as a Supernatural Ability. Creatures that are CG, LG, LE or CE and within 60' are immediatley apparent. This sense only informs the Druid that a creature possesses an Extreme alignment; but it does not reveal the exact nature of that alignment. The Druid has no control over this ability and receives a -4 pentalty on all Diplomacy checks when forced to interact with creatures that have an alignment from the above list.
Adaptation: As natural shapechangers; Nature Bound Druids are able to adapt to the rigors of living in the natural world better than mundane creatures. They benefit from the effects of an Endure Elements spell so long as they are in a form native to the climate they are and do not suffer normal environmental conditions such as the biting insects of a swamp or the snow-blindness of northern lands.
Natural Stride: As Woodland Stride (detailed in the Player's Handbook) except that the Nature Bound Druid does not suffer movement penalties or other adverse effects for moving through any natural terrain provided that they are in a form native to the area (e.g.: An Elf in the woods or a Dwarf underground). This ability is subject to the DM's discretion when dealing with extremely hostile environments (such as a Lava Field).
Wild Shape: As per the standard Druid ability
Shapechanger's Ease: Unlike normal Druids who adopt the median form of the animals they shift into; Nature Bound Druids have a degree of control over their appearance in any form. When using Wild Shape, a Nature Bound Druid can adobt any cosmetic change that does not provide a game effect. For example: A wolf could have coal black fur or a raven could have bright purple feathers.
