Becoming a Dragonologist

Entry Requirements

Skills:	Knowledge (Arcana) 8 ranks, Spellcraft 8 ranks.
Feats:	Any one metamagic or item creation feat, Skill Focus (Knowledge [Arcana]).
Spellcasting:	Ability to cast 3rd level arcane spells, Ability to cast at least three spells from the schools divination, evocation, and transmutation.
Language:	Draconic

Class Features

All of the following are Class Features of the Dragonologist prestige class.

Spellcasting: At each level, you gain new spells per day and an increase in caster level (and spells known, if applicable) as if you had also gained a level in a spellcasting class to which you belonged before adding the prestige class level. You do not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If you had more than one arcane spellcasting class before becoming a Dragonologist, you must decide to which class to add each level for the purpose of determining spells per day, caster level, and spells known.

Draconic Secret: At first level and every three levels higher than first, the dragonologist may receive a Draconic Secret from the table below, plus an additional secret for each intelligence modifier at level one. If the Dragonologist's increases after first level, they may qualify to take an additional secret according to their new permanent score. Each Draconic Secret can only be chosen once.

Dragon Lore: The Dragonologist, due to their focused studies, receives additional insight pertaining to dragons according to their class level. Choose a Chromatic or The Dragonologist receives the bonus indicated by their Dragon Lore class feature to any trained mental skill check, excluding intimidate pertaining to any type of dragon dragon. This bonus is doubled for in regard to the Dragonologist's favored dragon.

Dragon Familiar: At sixth level, the Dragonologist becomes entitled to the Dragon Familiar feat. If the character has achieved this feat though other means, such as a Draconic Secret, the dragonologist instead receives the Improved Dragon Familiar feat. At any level, for the purpose of familiars with the dragon type, Dragonologist levels stack with any other levels when calculating a familiar's master's class level.
