What looks like a stuffed lion standing on two legs stands before you. It's tail, big and bushy, drips with a rainbow of colors.
Doodle Homunculi are creatures created by the spell Ell's Handy Homunculus. They are crafty entertainers, terrible in battle but incredibly smart for their kind. They do not speak per se, but do make expressive noises. They feel best when drawing, which is what they are created for, artwork. They have keen minds and memories, about to record what they see onto a canvas even when it has past. They are good for recordkeeping therefore as well.
Doodles have a +4 racial bonus to Craft (Painting) checks.
While generally constructs are neutral, a homunculi picks up the alignment of its creator on casting.
Combat
Handy homunculi make poor weapons. Lacking any weapons of not, it uses it's Plaid Splash, and runs for it.
- Plaid Splash (Su)
The doodle may make a ranged touch attack out to a distance of 30 ft. If it hits, the target is garishly colored, invoking a -4 penalty on Hide checks for 1d4+1 rounds.
- Painting (Su)
The tail of the doodle makes a great paintbrush. With a few magical swipes he can change the color of an entire creature. This effect works identical to Prestidigitation.
Construction
The body is made of fabric and hair or fur, with the core crystal often embedded in the stomach. A drop of the caster's blood is mixed in with the stuffing, which animates on casting Ell's Handy Homunculus. The entire cost of supplies equals 500 gp.
Assembling the body requires a DC 15 Craft (weaving) or Craft (taxidermy) check.
