{{{3}}}

You were raised, taught, or in some way educated for a specific purpose. Whether it was a role you were expected to fill, a family business you were supposed to take over, or a prophecy you were believed to be the chosen one for, your life was decided before you could decide yourself. Somewhere along the line, whether through trauma, a critical decision, or simply being fed up with the life you didn't choose, you escaped it to pursue a life you could be proud of. Will you go against everything that came before and find something entirely new? Or will you reclaim what was forced into you as your own? What will you make of the future you've now to forge for yourself?

Skill Proficiencies: Arcana, Performance

Tool Proficiencies: 1 artisan's tools of your choosing

Chosen Purpose

You were taught in a certain way or simply made to be who you are. What exactly has happened to you?

Feature: Deny Destiny

You've fought what your circumstances have decided for you thus far and will continue to do so. After each long rest, roll 1d20 and record that roll. When you or anyone interacting with you and you alone makes a check using a 1d20, before the DM decides if it fails or succeeds, you may replace that roll with the recorded number. Un-expended uses of this feat are forgotten and replaced with a new roll after you take another long rest.

d8Personality Trait
1I'm quite insecure about my chosen field of practice, regardless of praise or improvement.
2I don't like to talk about myself or my past.
3I perk up at the slightest bit of praise.
4I enjoy being the most knowledgeable or appropriate person to deal with a certain situation.
5I do my best to avoid as much unecessary attention as possible.
6I'm very chatty and personable, making me easy to talk to.
7I like to reminisce from time to time, remember the life I left and why.
8I'm prideful in my abilities, them being what I was truly made for.
d6Ideal
1Defiance. Fate can't control who we decide to be, and I'll do anything to avoid the path that was chosen for me. (Chaotic)
2Spite. It was said to me that I would find balance and salvation in this world. I will ensure I leave it with nothing but chaos and destruction in my wake. (Evil)
3Self-Discovery. I need to know who I truly am before I can even consider the path that was previously already laid for me. (Any)
4Freedom. I wish to explore this life and this world, with no expectations weighing me down. (Chaotic)
5Benevolence. I want to see others succeed, in whatever they wish to do with their life, and will gladly go out of my way to help them if need be. (Good)
6Choice. I am the master of my own ship. I get to choose where it goes and how to navigate the treacherous storms that will inevitably come. (Neutral)
d6Bond
1Despite everything, I miss the ones who had laid down a future for me. They had good intentions, in the end.
2I've left behind people important to me when I left, and am afraid I can never recover the ties I severed with them.
3Someone close to me had died shortly before I left. They left me a message I carry with me at all times, and haven't opened since that day.
4I had to distance myself from someone I loved because of the life I was made to lead, and now I search for them again to reconcile.
5Those that once so fiercely believed in me now hunt me, trying to force me to fulfill the destiny they believed only I can fulfill.
6I spit in my parents' grave before I had left for good. But I still try and come back at least once a year to drop off flowers for them.
d6Flaw
1I am self-sacrificing to a fault.
2I get defensive when people start to make me do things I do not approve of.
3Despite everything, I think my destiny means I'm truly the most important person around.
4I see my life as disposable, and that none would miss the real person I was if I were to die.
5I see other people in a simplistic view of sidekicks, bad guys, and bystanders, with myself as the hero.
6I'd first slice of my own arm than admit I am wrong.

gollark: It's meant to be. I don't know what happened.
gollark: Tautology Public License: you are free to do whatever you are free to do with this code. If the author is attributed the author must be attributed.
gollark: Maybe I should adapt the potatOS privacy policy as a code license.
gollark: MPL?
gollark: There is also the "secondary processor exemption" thing, which caused the Librem people to waste a lot of time on having a spare processor on their SoC load a blob into the SoC memory controller from some not-user-accessible flash rather than just using the main CPU cores. This does not improve security because you still have the blob running with, you know, full control of RAM, yet RYF certification requires solutions like this.
