Physical Description
An angered Daemonii by User:Dinomaster337 |
The descendants of a long forgotten bloodline, the daemonii are gifted with an incredible strength but cursed with a relentless rage and hate. These seemingly diminutive creatures have no culture and have known no civilization, but the slums of city streets where they eek out the cruelest of livings.
Daemonii have the voices and appearance of human or half-elven children, with well defined, powerful muscles. Their preteenage-looking bodies are strong, hard, resilient, and, more often then not, are riddled with scars from the hard knock lives they live. Daemonii range in skin color from pasty to a dark tan, while their hair is as diverse as any human. Their bodies are almost always thick and muscular. They have a musculature that would be envied by most, if not for their demonic heritage. As they live in places where one must kill for scraps, daemonii are often quick to fight and anger even amongst each other. Their vicious nature is the cause of many a demonic brawl, which leave wounds more consistent with a mauling than a fight: gashes that stretch across their torsos, bruises from hard impacts, and even broken bones and nearly deathly bleeding. Their irises are demonic shades and hues of red, yellow, and orange, while their pupils are cat-like slits.
History
The daemonii have no culture of their own and few have anyone who will accept them. Exactly how they got their powers is unknown, but it is known that their ancestors signed deals with a wide menagerie of both demons and devils and they grew more powerful as the blood continued to mix. However, the gods grew worried of there power and they decided to take their memories of them away from them and make them only to return in nightmares that flash in and out driving the daemonii towards insanity. The memories of the past bloodline only return to the daemonii in short and random flashes. Because only the strong understand any of these images and the weak have no control over them, they are haunted by the images and some have been driven to suicide and insanity.
Society
To say the daemonii live like rats isn't too far off. They rarely live in households as no one chooses to accept them. As such, they're forced to live out on the streets.
Daemonii in a tribal society are rare, but not entirely unheard of. In general, tribal daemonii fair better than their urban counterparts. They may still be disliked, but tribes are generally more focused on survival than on segregation. Daemonii in tribal society don't have to deal with as much hate and sometimes are treated as equal to another tribes man. Sometimes they're even treated as superior, worshipped as blessed by powerful gods or demigods. They're treated as rulers and respected as such.
However, most daemonii live in large cities with lots of people who despise them. They're seen as monsters or as sinners who have fallen from grace, for their ancestors' actions. They're avoided, rejected of living conditions, hunted, told of in ghost stories to scare children, shunned, and even hated. As such, daemonii are rare due to this, largely indirect, extermination, leaving only the hardiest (and those who didn't commit suicide) as the lean, hungry survivors. As such, daemonii are forced to further their bad name if they want to live; they steal food, fight over it, and possibly even commit crimes. Daemonii who choose to survive are serious about it. They don't give up their wills easily, and with their intense anger issues, the blood in the water is boiling.
Daemonii often live off scraps of stolen food, all day. With their condition (living and mental), it's no surprise they're willing to and often fight each other to survive. Their vicious brawls leave 20 ft. alleyways painted with crimson, as they slash, bite, and beat on each other. Rarely do any daemonii die in these fights, but this is because of their resilience, not morality.
