The rundown

I was inspired by watching a lot of Cyborg 009 , I'm a constant nerd so this was made so I could be a Joe in D&D(5E), and there's a lot of refences to Cyborg 009.

Physical Description

History

Cyborgs themselves differ quite a lot concerning how they are created, but one thing in common is that they all are half of their mother race and half construct with a soul. One might be made by an aspiring scientist, or maybe an evil mastermind. An evil mastermind's cyborg might just be some sad fellow that was stolen to become a weapon. The aspiring scientist's cyborg could be that the scientist revived one of their friends by giving them cybernetic appendages. Not all cyborgs are meant to be weapons, and not all cyborgs are your friendly neighborhood Joe, so there's much wiggle room in terms of background itself. Was it an injury that lead to them becoming a cyborg or maybe could it have been a science test?

Society

Cyborgs usually have ran away from slavery into a small or secret society or have lived with their mother race as an equal or bodyguard. When cyborgs interact with otherwise their mother race, it's moderately difficult to tell them apart from the real thing. When cyborgs come intact with a fey of nature, the latter would most likely be unpleased of the cyborg's cybernetic implants.

Cyborg Names

Cyborgs usually don't have given names, but it's common for them to be labeled as their ID (i.e. ; A.021) or names that describe their implants (i.e. or one that was their former name before they became a cyborg.

ID: 009 , C.T.RB ( Cyborg Tax collector of region B ) , Ao

Names Based Off of Implants: Jet Link (implying rocket boots) , Chameleon (implying shapeshifting) , Volcano (implying flamethrower) , Rocky (implying sturdy or stout)

Former Names: Joe Shimamura , Ar-two Dee'too , Leachi Smuokou , Kazuvarquo Yheanji

Cyborg Traits

Cyborgs are a half humanoid half construct creature, but with their own soul. They are more nimble then their mother species, and slightly sturdier, too.
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2 and your Constitution score increases by 1.
Age. Cyborgs can theoretically live eternally, given that they have maintenance performed on them. They retain the age they had when they became cyborgs.
Alignment.
Size. The normal size varies but cyborgs can be built smaller or larger then their mother race.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 40 feet. Dashing (usually doubles the base speed) is reduced to 70ft.
Humanoid Flashlight.. Your eyes radiate directed bright light in two 5ft wide, 20ft long cones in which you can see colour (point coming from eyes) with the surrounding areas of 20-60ft ranging from greyed dim light to darkness.
Rest mode.. You don't sleep nor go into trance, you instead long rest for four hours, in which you retain full consciousness and alertness as you would normally and may occasionally daydream. Your body recharges itself and repairs your epidermis during this time.
Internal Cybernetic Insides.. When your HP reaches the 1/3 point, PCs and NPCs can see your mechanical structure through your torn epidermis.
Magical Science Construct Shenanigans.. If you enter a no-magic zone (spell or permanent zone) you make a con save of 16 or suffer two points of exhaustion that cannot be replenished by rests. This effect will cease when you exit the non-magic zone.
Streamlined Slim.. When you dash, you ignore any difficult terrain that costs movement feet. When you melee attack a foe, you don't provoke opportunity attacks whether you hit or miss the attack.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and the language of your creator.

Suggested Characteristics

Your newfound cyborg character could also be paired with it's own racial class ( But that's a WIP ) and it gains the gimmicks and spells of doing cyborg-y stuff, I'd assume.

gollark: Well, in that case, I unsupport this.
gollark: I am supportive of this "meta channel" unless you force all metadiscussion ever there.
gollark: Perhaps, but it's *ominous* to me, especially with other stuff.
gollark: But did you *not* read "everyone listens to me" and something about everyone respecting them?
gollark: That's an orthogonal issue, mostly.
