Creating Crossbow Expert, Variant

Prerequisites: Dex 16 Wis 14
You ignore the loading quality of crossbows with which you are proficient.

Being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn’t impose disadvantage on your ranged attack rolls.

When you use the Attack action and attack with a one handed weapon, you can use a bonus action to attack with a hand crossbow you are holding.

When wielding a 2 handed crossbow you know how best to watch over your party, you may preemptively distracting any attacker within 20 ft. If a enemy attacks other than you, as a reaction you can roll your weapon damage dice and subtract it from the enemy’s damage roll. If this reduces the damage to 0, nothing else happens. If the attack still deals damage, you deal half the negated damage to the attacker. You consume ammunition regardless of the result. You must use this feature before knowing the damage total.
