Crocabearamoose

The head of an alligator, the body of a bear, and the antlers of a moose.

Physical Description

Taller than most bears with the addition of their moose antlers, The Crocabearamoose is a fearsome creature. Mostly the product of the three named creatures, they do share traits of humanoids. While most bears and crocodiles (as well as moose) do not have opposable thumbs, but Crocabearamooses do. Their hands have claws similar to crocodiles but palm has the pads of a bear. Most of the body is bear-like, except for moose hooves located at the feet. Underneath the thick bear fur lies crocodilian scales. Biologists have no idea how hair grows through that.

Society

A nomadic species, Crocabearamooses are relatively solitary creatures, but can take partners and will usually take care of their offspring until they mature. They are not a patriarchy nor a matriarchy, neither sex being seen as superior to the other.

History

Not much is known about where The Crocabearamoose came from. There is very little evidence of any creature evolving into what is now known as Crocabearamooses, so it is unlikely they occured naturally. Many anthropologists have theorized about them being the product of experimentation, either by science or magic, but some suggest simple interspecies mating.

Attitudes and Beliefs

If there is a higher power, The Crocabearamoose doesn't particularly care.

Diet

Possessing various body parts from multiple different kinds of creatures, Crocabearamooses are omnivores. Individuals will choose if they want to be strictly carnivorous or herbivorous. They can be both hunters and gatherers, but tend to choose one.

Language

While they physically can't speak common, since they have a crocodile mouth and jaw, they aren't exactly constricted to sounds that crocodiles make. A Crocabearamoose can also make the noises of a bear and a moose. As such, their voices can range from the growl of a bear, the hiss of an alligator, or the bellow of a moose. However, none of this is used to communicate. As with most animals, Crocabearamooses use body language to let their intentions be known.

gollark: Surprisingly, AGPLv3 doesn't contain any clauses about not hunting down families.
gollark: Broadly speaking, unless you somehow make consumption *negative* or never use nonrenewable things, you're still going to run through available stuff that way and have to do something.
gollark: AutoBotRobot remains eternally.
gollark: Exciting news: mention parsing on the bridge.
gollark: I could host a web IRC client of some kind.
