Confessor (4e Paragon Path)

Confessor (of Sword of Truth fame)

Don't shed tears for those already in the ground, until after you have brought vengeance to those who put them there. There will be time enough then.

Prerequisite: Human; If Female you must be of a good alignment (although some were known to become zealous vigilantes in the past), if you are a Male you are most likely of Chaotic Evil alignment (due to the corrupting nature of their power; in the books, Confess is an At-Will power for them); Rogue

Confessors were an order of women first created during the Great War as a means of ascertaining the truth beyond doubt. Created by Wizard Merrit, the first Confessor was Magda Searus. The magic of the Confessors destroyed the person touched by their power and fills the void left with complete and total love for the Confessor; there one and only wish is now to please the Confessor that touched them with her (his) magic.

The Male Confessors, and the wizards of the New World, engaged each other in a horrible war. By its conclusion, all Male Confessors were dead as were most of the wizards who killed them in an effort to restore the balance of power. Following this, a new mandate was issued. Any male offspring of a Confessor would immediately be put to death (the male confessor's unquenchable thirst for power and control began prior to adolescence).
