Physical Description

Concept manifests are some of the most bizarre entities to "walk" the Material Plane. Most entities are simple creatures of physical form, and even the incorporeal are anchored to the floor of the physical realm. But concept manifests are something else entirely. While they may indeed manifest upon the material plane, their existence is derived from an idea itself!

Concept manifests begin a sapient concepts: simple ideas which have a mind of their own. Sapient ideas are ideas like any other; they are transmitted between sentient or sapient beings, communicated through language, and spread amongst thoughtful creatures. Their sapience only gives them more power, as they can act upon and control their own ideation. However, much like a simple idea, they depend upon propagation and observation to survive. If no one bears or recognizes the idea of a sapient concept, then it ceases to exist; after all, it is an idea, and there is no idea if no one recognizes it. However, some sapient concepts become truly powerful ideas, propagating amongst a wide group of people. Eventually, their very concept becomes so recognized that it allows them to take a physical form.

Concept manifests frequently take the form of a human-like creature; at times, a concept can take a non-humanoid shape, although this is extremely rare. The humanoid model is the dominant idea for a sapient creature, meaning that it is the idea that most concept manifests pull from first. Beyond this, concept manifests can take wildly varying forms and shapes. Most will adopt a "normal" human appearance, or the appearance of a similar species, such as an elf or dwarf, but they can manifest with truly disturbing visages.
