College of Prestige (5e Subclass)

College of Prestige

The bards practice the art of working a crowd. While most bards seek fame or renown, those of the Prestige College yearn for celebrity-status, or simply find themselves there. They are a people-person, and those of the same college are a part of a network of charismatic personalities.

People Person

At the 3rd Level, you know the friends cantrip, and it doesn't count against the maximum number of cantrips you know. If you already know this cantrip, you may choose another from the bard spell list.

In addition, whenever you cast the friends cantrip, the target creature does not know you used magic on it and as a result will not become hostile after the spell's duration ends.

Talented

At the 3rd level, you gain proficiency in one tool or instrument of your choice. Additionally, you may add double your proficiency bonus to skill checks you make utilizing that tool or instrument that you are already proficient in.

It's Showtime

Also at 3rd level, when rolling for initiative, you may use your Performance skill check modifier in place of your Dexterity modifier.

Well-Connected

At the 6th level, if you spend at least 1 hour carousing a populated area, you can find one of the following, if any:

  • Lodgings equal to a comfortable lifestyle for up to five creatures.
  • Information regarding the location of persons of interest.
  • Access to rare/illegal goods and services.

Crowd Pleaser

At the 6th level, whenever you cast the friends cantrip, you can target any number of non-hostile creatures within 30 feet of you without having to re-cast the spell. You must finish a short or long rest to use this feature again.

Overwhelming Personality

Once you reach the 14th Level, you have a shining personality. Your innate charisma becomes your force of will. When you are forced to make a Wisdom saving throw you may make a Charisma saving throw instead.

gollark: So, you want me to rename potatOS?
gollark: But what does it actually do?
gollark: What?
gollark: I could probably try and block its use in Australia.
gollark: Yep!
