Bard Subclass
Bards who study at the College of Hymns devote themselves to learning the songs and poems of praise of many gods. They usually align themselves with Celestials and good gods, taking inspiration from their legendary deeds to eventually create their own hymns. They are well-known for imbuing positive energy with their music, creating some of the most glorious, righteous masterpieces to grace mortal ears.
- Discipline of Divinity
As a Hymn-singing Bard, you collect divine songs from various faiths. At 3rd level, you learn two Cleric cantrips and one Cleric spell of 1st or 2nd level of your choice. For you, these spells count as Bard spells but don't count against your maximum spells known.
At 5th, 7th, and 9th level, you learn one additional Cleric spell in this way as long as you have a spell slot you can cast it with.
- Sacred Inspiration
Also at 3rd level, you can use your Bardic Inspiration to reinvigorate your allies. You can choose expend a Bardic Inspiration die to heal a creature a number of hit points equal to your Bardic Inspiration die (which is rolled) + your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1).
- Divine Music
At 6th level, you have learned much about both music and the divines. You know how to construct and use three types of sacred songs: chants, dirges, and hymns. As an action, you can start a performance of one of these types that lasts until the end of your next turn. A creature must be able to hear you to gain any benefit from a perfomance. The performance ends early if you are incapacitated or silenced or if you voluntarily end it (no action required).
Chant: Each creature of your choice within 30 feet of you is empowered by the primal tones of your chant. These affected creatures have advantage on Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution saving throws and ability checks. You must choose Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution when you begin the chant.
Dirge: Each creature of your choice within 30 feet of you is awestruck by the haunting tones of your dirge. These affected creatures have resistance to necrotic and poison damage and have advantage on saving throws against poisons and diseases.
Hymn: Each creature of your choice within 30 feet of you is uplifted by the celestial chords you strike. These affected creatures reduce any nonmagical damage they take by your Charisma modifier (to a minimum of 0 damage and a minimum of 0 damage reduced).
- Direct Inspiration
At 14th level, your connection to divine energy has grown so strong that you can inspire others and yourself with the power of the gods. You can target yourself with Bardic Inspiration. Additionally, when you heal a creature with a Bardic Inspiration die, you can also choose to cure one poison or disease or end one condition of your choice affecting the creature.
