CoffeeLock (5e Optimized Character Build)
The warlock sits in the corner, muttering to himself. He hasn't slept for a long time now. The cleric slowly walks over to him and pats him on the back. "Are you okay? You haven't been sleeping." The warlock replies, "Oh, I know. I'm getting ready for the fight." The cleric looks at him confusedly. "But the fight isn't for another few days." The warlock grins insanely. "I know. But when it comes, I will have UNLIMITED POWER!!!!!!!!" He laughs maniacally, and the cleric backs off, eyes wide. "Okay, okay, but try to get some sleep, okay?" The warlock growls and turns away.
This build is to have an insane number of spell slots at your disposal, ready to be created out of thin air.
- The Concept
The idea is to be able to cast as many spells as possible. This build won't give you a lot of spell slots- it'll give you the ability to create them out of thin air, without ever taking a long rest.
- The Build
For this build to work, you need mostly sorcerer levels to get your sorcery points maximum up, but do get a few levels in warlock. What kind of warlock, it doesn't matter. It is pretty simple: During combat, turn your Warlock spell slots into sorcery points, then create spell slots using those sorcery points you get. Because you have a maximum number of sorcery points, you cannot create the spell slots to prepare for combat, but you can use this after combat. Since you don't get sorcery points back on a short rest, but you do get your warlock spell slots back, you can also get a bunch of sorcery points back on a short rest using this method. Be careful of this; it is not always in your best interest to make sorcery points out of warlock spell slots, but it is very helpful when you are running low on sorcery points or sorcerer spell slots.
- Build Addons
Since it is a Sorlock (sorcerer+warlock) build, it is incredibly versatile. I encourage you to look at the 1200ft spellsniper optimized build, which I cannot take credit for, and the Eldritch Gatling Gun optimized build, which I CAN take credit for, for more ideas on how to break the game using a Sorlock. This build is compatible with both those other builds, so you can even use both those builds in addition to this one. And remember, the game of D&D is to have fun. If this is upsetting other players at the table, maybe tone it back a bit. But until then, go irritate your DM!
