Circle of the Wood (5e Subclass)

Circle of the Wood

Druid Subclass

Druids who follow the Circle of the Wood are much averse to direct contact with others. They prefer to act from afar, gathering intelligence from a safe distance before acting. The wood shelters them and keeps them hidden away out of sight and out of mind, and they carry this modus operandi with them wherever they go.

Plant Shape

When you choose this circle at 2nd level, you gain the ability to shapeshift into plant creatures in addition to beasts. The plant must be of a type that you have seen before and must obey the same Wild Shape restrictions that your class level is subject to.

Hideaway

Beginning at 2nd level, you gain proficiency with the Stealth skill if you are not already proficient. In addition, your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses Stealth.

You may use a bonus action or reaction to hide after casting a spell.
Circle Spells

Your mystical connection to the forest infuses you with the ability to cast certain spells. At 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level you gain access to the circle spells of the dark wood. Once you gain access to a circle spell, you always have it prepared, and it doesn't count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn't appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.
