Character (Shinobi World Setting)

Creating a Character

When creating a character in the Shinobi World, follow the following rules.

Races

Humanity exists as the primary, if not exclusive, sentient species in the Shinobi World. However, certain jutsu exist that can fundamentally change a person’s biology. For instance, a water style jutsu that makes one take on fish-like features may be represented as a Triton. Generally, players should choose the Variant Human located in the Player's Handbook. While feats are still an option, consider discussing with your DM what shinobi clan your character is from, and if it warrants replacing your feat option with a single jutsu.

Classes

Along with all traditional, non-spellcasting classes, you may choose the shinobi class. Magic in its traditional Dungeons and Dragons sense does not exist, instead each person gathers and manipulates their own chakra, gathered from their physical and spiritual strength, in order to form techniques, or jutsu, with effects similar to spells.

Background

While all traditional backgrounds are available, the genin/chūnin/jōnin Background should be heavily considered.

gollark: Well, me, though I think it overreaches.
gollark: I mean, having the right to do something and it being a good idea to do it is not the same thing...
gollark: I... do accept that, you realise...
gollark: He had reasons. He also overreacted. They are not mutually exclusive.
gollark: The issue is more like "one person did a bad thing, there was a massive overreaction, and apparently you have no safeguards in place and someone can randomly run around deleting everything".
