Channeler Mage (3.5e Prestige Class)
Channeler Mage
“ | Power through this, power to this, power from this. | ” |
A wizard may chose to become a Channeler Mage, this is a path taken by someone that wants to work for their faction (be it as a mech pilot or as a front line combatant). The Channeler Mages could be solitary and use this ability to do their own work.
Becoming a Channeler Mage
A Channeler Mage is usually a wizard that wants to pilot a mech effectively or cannel while fighting some other item. Their combat ability is mostly from their previous class and their physical skill, they may multiclass into a combat based class.

Class Features
All of the following are class features of the Channeler Mage.
Channeling: A Channeler Mage may channel a spell through an item, this may either cast a spell through a weapon (for reach) or grant a magical bonus to the weapon's attack and damage rolls. This is done by taking a move action to sacrifice a spell, the magical weapon gains a bonus depending on the spell level sacrificed. This lasts for 1d4 rounds plus the Channeler Mage's class levels and their intelligence or charisma modifier (whatever they use for casting).
Ignore Spell Failure: Every level of Channeler Mage reduces their arcane spell failure chance by 5%.
Greater Channeling: At third level a Channeler Mage may channel through any item, they can channel though an entire building if they so required. This allows them to pilot mechs and cast as if they were the mech. They still require line of sight to cast the spell, you may also cast at a target that you cannot see but if this hits is defined by a DM.

Advancement: Either continuing with their arcane caster class or multi-classing into a combat based class.
Resources: Channeler Mages usually don't work together but those that do usually work for a great empire to pilot their vehicles. Some are solitary and pilot mechs to do what they can to get by.
