Bowman of the Wild

Who needs armor when no one can catch you?
—Neron, Elf Ranger

A Bowman of the Wild is someone who has spent much time in nature, learning the ways of nature and those who inhabit it. They are said to be able to merge with the forest and speak with nature to learn its secrets. They are very agile and quick from their experience in nature.

Class Features

All of the following are class features of the Bowman of the Wild.

Animal Companion: At 1st level, a bowman of the wild gains the services of a loyal animal companion. Treat the bowman of the wild as a druid whose level is equal to the bowman of the wild's class level +4. A bowman of the wild can select one of the animals available to a 1st-level ranger or druid and then apply the modifications as appropriate for a 5th-level ranger or druid's animal companion, or she can select a typical version of one of the animals available to a 5th-level ranger or druid. If a bowman of the wild already has an animal companion from another class, her bowman of the wild levels stack with class levels from all other classes that grant an animal companion. For example, a 3rd-level ranger or druid/2nd-level bowman of the wild would be treated as an 9th-level ranger or druid for the purpose of improving the statistics of her animal companion.

Ranged Power: Starting at 2nd level, a bowman of the wild becomes more skilled with a bow. A bowman of the wild adds +1d10 to damage rolls on all attacks using a bow. At 6th level, this increases to +2d10 and at 10th level, it increases to +3d10.

Run: At 2nd level, a bowman of the wild learns to move more quickly to stay at a good distance to use a bow. The bowman of the wild gains Run as a bonus feat at 2nd level.

Natural Bond: At 3rd level, a bowman of the wild becomes very close to her animal companion. The bowman of the wild gains Natural Bond as a bonus feat.

Far Shot: At 4th level, a bowman of the wild learns to use bows effectively at greater distances. The bowman of the wild gains Far Shot as a bonus feat.

Speak w/ Animals: At 5th level, a bowman of the wild gains the ability to commune with nature. The bowman of the wild can use Speak w/ Animals at will as a spell-like ability.

Many Shot: At 6th level, a bowman of the wild learns to shoot multiple arrows from her bow at the same time. The bowman of the wild gains Many Shot as a bonus feat.

Swift Tracker: At 7th level, a bowman of the wild becomes a more skilled tracker. The bowman of the wild can use Track at her base speed.

Shot on the Run: At 8th level, a bowman of the wild learns to shoot a bow accurately without stopping. The bowman of the wild gains Shot on the Run as a bonus feat.

Call of beasts: At 9th level,a bowman of the wild can call 1d10 beasts of the same type as your animal companion to fight by your side.

Improved Precise Shot: At 10th level, a bowman of the wild becomes a master at hitting concealed enemies with a bow. The bowman of the wild gains Improved Precise Shot as a bonus feat.

Note: This prestige class is for consideration by the Dungeon Master.

gollark: Wow. This is... quite something.
gollark: <@202992030685724675> It may be more useful to actually have working hardware before mocking up a UI.
gollark: I don't know.
gollark: Implying of course that you actually do this.
gollark: Are you using some preexisting board or what?
