This page is incomplete and/or lacking flavor. Reason: This is just a high elf without trance or keen sense(base elf traits) and arcana proficiency given. Mechanically this is lack luster, consider making this a subrace. As far as fluff goes the lore references a number of otherwise unknown and unexplained places and names that not only don't exist within the standard dnd setting but appear to only exist in one specific setting. As content, unless it belongs to a campaign setting or is a darivative work of, should be written in the style fo the first party, that being easily able to drop into the vast majority of settings. See the 5e Race Design Guide for help. Also, summary line is missing.

Blood Elf

Physical Description

Physically identical to high elves, blood elves tend to wear gold and red to remind themselves of their race's terrible losses. Many painted runes or mysterious tattoos on their faces, arms and shoulders for warding off demons or celebrating significant kills or simply to look intimidating — something high elves would never do. As well, they adopted hair styles that went against the norms of high elf society. Blood Elf males typically have slender, muscular, and athletic bodies. They also possess long pointy ears, acute senses and keen sight in the darkness. Blood Elf females can possess much the same, albeit typically sporting a slim elven physique. Like all elves, blood elves are considered highly attractive by the standards of most mortal races.

History

The Blood Elves or Sin'dorei in Thalassian ("children of the blood"), are a race composed of former high elves who renamed themselves in honor of their people who were killed during the siege of Quel'Thalas by the Scourge during the Third War.

Cut off from the powerful energies of the Well of Eternity and no longer immortal, many of the high elves died from exposure or starvation during their long journey.

Using a vial of sacred water stolen from the first Well of Eternity, the high elves created a fountain of mystical power at a convergence of powerful ley energies in Quel'Thalas. They named this fountain the Sunwell, and its potent arcane magic fed and strengthened all high elves. The power of the high elves grew, and they cast an enchantment on the forest that would keep them bathed in eternal springtime.

Society

Many Blood Elves paint runes or mysterious tattoos on their faces, arms and shoulders for warding off demons or celebrating significant kills or simply to look intimidating — something high elves would never do. As well, they adopted hairstyles that went against the norms of high elf society.

gollark: I don't *actually* have particularly strong opinions on it because I don't know highly advanced physics things™, but apparently it's basically untestable.
gollark: Please get away from any children I might have in the future, proactively.
gollark: Are you one of those STRING THEORISTS?
gollark: There aren't two extremes. It's a continuous 2D space.
