Blood Angel

You are neither an emissary of Heaven, or a monster of Hell, but an uncanny mix between the two. Most blood angels are born through the unholy union of a tiefling and a fallen angel.

Physical Description

Violenta blood-wing angel custom conjure, Magickal Menagerie's Bizarre Bazaar

A blood angel is exactly what it sounds like: an angel with blood-red or crimson wings. Some blood angels are known to have red skin and horns.

History

The First Blood Angel. No one knows who gave birth to the first blood angel, but all remember his appearance. During a war between two neighboring countries, an angel-like being with blood red skin and wings and long black hair appeared and slaughtered all who attempted to fight him. Following the battle he disappeared, however, both sides of the fight agreed that he was a blood angel, less due to his skin and wing color, and more due to the bloodshed created by the fearsome existence.

War. Blood angels are known to appear during wars and are heavily recognized as a sign that a battle is about to be won. Throughout history blood, angels tend to either decimate the enemy forces or appear last minute in a losing battle and heal all those injured.

Society

Blood angels are a rarity, so no specific society of blood angels exists, however they are known to join countries they believe in as warriors and medics.

Blood Angel Names

A blood angel usually takes its name after its tiefling parent.

Blood Angel Traits

The child of a Tiefling and a Fallen Planetar.
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score and your Strength both increase by 2.
Age. Unlike your fallen angel parent, you are mortal, however, you can live up to 10,000 years.
Alignment. Taking from the Planetar side, blood angels mainly focus on law, though on the basis of good & evil, it is up to the Blood Angel to find his/her path.
Size. Blood Angels are broad and sturdily-built, unlike their tiefling parentage. They vary, being from 6"5 to well over 7"0. Although, Blood Angels almost never grow above 8"0. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking and flying speed is 30 feet.
Angel Wings. You have blood red wings similar to that of an angel but yours are notably smaller. These grant you a flying speed of 30 feet. You cannot use this flying speed if you are wearing medium or heavy armor or if you are encumbered. Medium or heavy armor may be custom-made to fit in your wings, although these armors usually cost around twice as much.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Holy Weakness. You are vulnerable to necrotic damage.
Infernal Legacy. Your tiefling heritage shares its magic with you. You know the thaumaturgy cantrip.
Divine Awareness. When a creature you can hear tells a lie, the DM rolls a d20, your proficiency modifier being added to the roll. On a number above 14, the DM tells you that it is a lie. If the roll was below 15, the DM tells you he's telling the truth. You may not use this ability while occupied with something else. You must be focusing completely on the creature, as if it was a concentration spell. You may not use this ability on Good creatures. Obviously, the DM may automatically make it become a fail or success if the story requires it.
Divine Obedience. When a celestial uses some sort of spell that would control you, you gain disadvantage on the roll.
Smite. When you make a damage roll with a melee weapon, you may expend a hit die. Your attack deals additional fire damage equal to the amount rolled. If the creature dies from the damage, it bursts into a pile of smoke and ash. You regain use of this trait after you finish a short or long rest.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and your choice of Infernal or Celestial.

gollark: Well, not certainly, but I think so.
gollark: Some certainly do.
gollark: Then OOP came along.
gollark: It became popular once people decided that they wanted lots of client-side interactivity.
gollark: I'm not sure about that either.
