Blademaster (5e Subclass)

Blademaster

You train yourself in the art of open combat. While stealth may be used complimentary to your fighting skill, it is secondary once battle breaks loose. This subclass is common with those that find themselves in a scuffle more often than they would like, and their dagger is just as deadly as any sword.

Dual Daggers

When you choose this Subclass at 3rd level, you gain an enhanced ability using daggers. You gain Two Weapon fighting style when wielding two daggers. In addition your damage die with daggers become a d6 rather than d4.

Flick of the Wrist

Starting at third level, you may use the bonus action granted by your Cunning Action to throw a dagger. In addition, if it hits the enemy bleeds for 1d6 rounds dealing an additional 1d4 at the end of their turn. Expands by another d4 at level 9 for 2d4, level 13 for 3d4, and level 17 for 4d4 and the duration increases to 2d6.

Extra Attack

Beginning at 9th, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Chink in the Armor

Once you are level 13, you have gained enough skill to know where to strike your opponent to deal the most damage. You now critically strike on a roll of 19 or 20.

Lucky Blades

At level 17, you may spend one hour practicing with a set of two daggers. They gain the following benefits when wielded by you:

  • Attacking at long range doesn't impose disadvantage on your ranged weapon attack rolls.
  • If you miss with a melee attack roll, you can roll it again with advantage. Once you do so, you can't use this feature again until you finish a short or long rest.

Only one set of two daggers may have this bonus at a time. Practicing with a new set removes the buffs from the old set.

gollark: Well, this is immensely bizarre.
gollark: It doesn't get a massive amount of funding, though.
gollark: I don't really know enough about the current state of fusion and the relevant physics to say much about whether it's likely to be practical eventually, though.
gollark: Although preparation and fuel production and stuff ended up taking up waaaay more than you get out, IIRC net-positive if you just count energy input used to heat up the fuel or whatever was achieved a while ago.
gollark: Actually, that was sort of achieved a while ago.
