Berserker, 2nd Variant (5e Subclass)

Path of the Berserker, 2nd Variant

Berserker, Cristi Balanescu

Barbarian Subclass

For some barbarians, rage is a means to an end—that end being violence. The Path of the Berserker is a path of untrammeled fury, slick with blood. As you enter the berserker's rage, you thrill in the chaos of battle, heedless of your own health or well-being.

Exasperated Rage

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you gain access to a special kind of rage. Once, when you enter a rage, you can choose to make it an exasperated rage. During an exasperated rage, you have resistance to your choice of acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, or thunder damage, and you can take the attack action as a bonus action. However, once you end your exasperated rage, you take a level of exhaustion. You regain the ability to enter an exasperated rage again when you lose this level of exhaustion.

Frenzy

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, the slings and arrows of your enemies can send you into a rage. Whenever you take damage, you can use your reaction to enter a rage.

Mindless Rage

Beginning at 6th level, you can't be charmed or frightened while raging. If you are charmed or frightened when you enter your rage, the effect is suspended for the duration of the rage. Additionally, you have advantage on Wisdom and Charisma saving throws made while in a rage.

Intimidating Presence

Starting at 10th level, you exude an intimidating presence. Hostile creatures within 30 feet of you that can detect you have disadvantage on checks and saving throws made to resist becoming frightened. While raging, any such creature that can see you must make a Wisdom saving throw at the start of each of your turns or else be frightened by you. The condition ends when a creature succeeds on a saving throw, making it immune to this effect until you start another rage.

Retaliation

Starting at 14th level, when you take damage from a creature that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature. While in an exasperated rage, you can make opportunity attacks without using a reaction.
