Battle Teleporter (3.5e Prestige Class)
Battle Teleporter
“ | You might be stronger than me, but let's see if you can survive a 900 foot fall... | ” |
A battle teleporter is a great asset to battle, with the strong ability to appear and disappear seamlessly, turning the tides of battle by always having an advantageous spot to attack or cast magic from. They become able to even pull their adversaries through the portals they create, enabling them the ability to trap them in dangerous locations or even porting them high into the sky to let the inevitable fall damage they'll suffer do their work. They tend to be craftier than the average caster, some even taking advantage of the ability to appear from behind and strike their enemies in cold blood, then quickly disappearing as soon as they had appeared to prevent any harm to themselves.
Becoming a Battle Teleporter
This class is most sought after by sorcerers andwizards, as the ability to quickly escape any threat or keep an enemy on their toes with quick and sudden jumps across the battlefield is something incredibly beneficial to them. Rogues will find the class just as powerful, being able to make quick and sudden strikes, vanishing before any suspicions turn to them.

Class Features
All the following are class features of The Battle Teleporter:
Combat Casting (Ex): At 1st level the battle teleporter gains this as a bonus feat. If you already have this feat, this adds a +2 competency bonus to Concentration while casting defensively.
Innate Teleporter (Sp): A battle teleporter is familiar with the concept of how to teleport, so much so they seem to do it without even trying. They gain the ability to use dimension door 2/day for every Battle Teleporter level they have.
Forced Teleport (Su): At 2nd level the battle teleporter becomes capable of taking unwilling creatures with them through the effects of any Conjuration (Teleport) spell.
Quick Teleport (Su): Starting at 3rd Level, a battle teleporter may apply the Metamagic Feat Quicken Spell to any Conjuration (Teleport) spell they know with no higher-level prepared spell or spell slot penalty. This applies this Metamagic Feat to any spells that are cast spontaneously as well.
Warping Grasp (Su): At 4th Level, any Conjuration (Teleport) spells cast by the battle teleporter can be cast as under the effect of the Metamagic Feat Reach Spell. This enables the battle teleporter to make a ranged touch attack - to teleport a target and themself - in a 30 foot ray rather than touching directly.
Focused Teleporter (Su): Starting at 5th Level, The battle teleporter is so in-tune with their abilities they become able to port into combat without incurring any Attacks of Opportunity. This also grants to ability to use Move or Standard actions after teleporting - otherwise a battle teleporter would take no actions as per the effects of dimension door.
Notes
As the original editor and creator of this class has not edited this class in a long time, I took it upon myself to edit out some of the more useless abilities to help balance the class out, trying to make the abilities gained by this prestige more advantageous to a character who would rely on teleportation in battle.
The only thing I really didn't see fit to work in from the original class was the Enlarge Metamagic that was first applied. Enlarge does not have a way to apply to any spell that is delivered by Touch, so I worked it out. I had also fixed the Combat Casting feat gained by this, as most spellcasters usually will take it as one of their first feats, instead including an additional bonus if it was already taken.
There was one thing I wished to add to the class that was not applied, and that was the failure chance with the Teleport spell - possibly reducing either the chances of a failure to land where you indicated or reducing the damage penalty in event of a failure. This may be something to work in later, but I think the class is now as good as it can be, seeing that Dimension Door is such a low-cost spell and takes full advantage of the benefits from this class.(different person) it also makes sense to combine wayfare's guide with this at least to me using the price table on jobs and only payng a 10% "finder's fee" as well as using the range increases andadditional creatures you're able to teleport this way you can also make a little money with your skill outside of battle.
