Barbarian (Plushie Substitution Level)

Plushie Barbarian Substitution Levels

Note: Only Eijilund Plushies are eligible for these. Plushie Barbarians are a rare lot, given their small size and weak bodies. However they certainly do possess the fiery, crazed spirit of a barbarian. Their racial substitution levels take this flaming spirit and use it as their missing offense.

Burning Rage: Burning Rage replaces the barbarian's normal rage ability. Instead of the usual bonuses to ability scores, the plushie ignites on fire. Anyone making natural or unarmed strikes, or grappling the plushie takes 1d6 fire damage. The main benefit, however, is their weapon also ignites. In a rage, a barbarian plushie temporarily gains 1d6 fire damage on their weapon, a +4 bonus to Strength, a +4 bonus to Constitution, and a +2 morale bonus on Will saves, but he takes a -2 penalty to Armor Class. The fire damage stacks with weapon enchantments and spells. The increase in Constitution increases the barbarian’s hit points by 2 points per level, but these hit points go away at the end of the rage when his Constitution score drops back to normal. As they are living constructs, plushies are already immune to fatigue when dropping out of rage. In all other ways, the barbarian rage behaves as normal.

Cold Resistance (Su): Even when not raging the barbarian plushie's inner fire never stops burning. This radiating heat grants the plushie cold resistance equal to the barbarian plushie's class level, to cold resistance 20 at 20th level.

Strength Bonus: At 5th level the plushie barbarian is tough enough to bypass the weakness of his race, gaining +2 Str. It occurs once more at 17th level.

Greater Burning Rage: At 11th level, a barbarian plushie’s fire damage increases to 3d6, his Strength and Constitution score increases to +6, and his morale bonus on Will saves increases to +3. The penalty to AC remains at -2.

Mighty Burning Rage: At 20th level, a barbarian plushie’s fire damage increases to 5d6, his Strength and Constitution during his rage each increase to +8, and his morale bonus on Will saves increases to +4. The penalty to AC remains at -2.
