Arthantians

A race designed around the idea that "Some men just want to watch the world burn."

Personality

The Arthantians are an extremely Charismatic and friendly race. They seem to be quick to make friends and are seen as people to be trusted. This is a very common misconception. Although they seem like the last person that would ever betray you, an Arthantian would be the first person to ram a longsword through the back of your neck simply because they want your supplies. Arthantians are generally narcissistic and the only person that they care about other than themselves is there soul companion. An Arthantian's soul companion is someone of a different race that the Arthantian has bonded with and will protect at all costs. The soul companion is an Arthantians best and only true non-Arthantian friend.

Physical Description

An Arthantian generally resembles a human, except for a few distinct differences. All Arthantians have light purple eyes and hair the color of the blackest night sky. Their tongues are forked and their lips are black. The hands of an Arthantian are covered in jagged bumps caused by protruding pieces of bone. As a result of this, an Arthantian can use an unarmed attack that deals 1d4 damage.

Relations

Arthantians get along very well with other Arthantians, however, the same cannot be said for other races. Arthantians tend to see others as tools to be used rather than as people. An Arthantian will use others to obtain personal goals and then discard them, usually killing them. Since others are seen as objects rather than people, Arthantians feel no remorse for their action though they are very good at feigning remorse. The only non-Arthantian that is seen as a person is an Arthantian's soul companion. the soul companion is someone of another race that an Arthantian has bonded with and that an Arthantian will protect at all costs. The Arthantian sees this person as one of their own and will show their loyalty to this person by handing them a dagger and saying, "If I ever hurt you in any way, take this dagger and plunge it through my heart, for I will no longer have a reason to live."

Alignment

An Arthantian must be of lawful evil, or chaotic evil.

Lands

The Arthantians hail from the southern part of Toril where they blended with many other races and developed the ability to manipulate others with their extreme charisma.

Religion

Most Arthantians worship the Raven Queen, though some still worship other gods and goddesses.
