Ambun (5e Race)

Ambun

As the Archfey lead the traveller through the halls of her castle it was the guards that truly grabbed the rangers attention. Horns of wood, three eyes, and the physique of a large red gorilla made it apparent why the Archfey was not often disturbed by angry neighbours.

Physical Description

Ambun are bulky muscular creatures whose bodies closely resemble that of a large bipedal gorilla except for a few key differences. The first of these differences is their third eye placed squarely in the centre of their forehead coupled with their three large curled wooden horns that extend from the sides and the top of their heads. They are also oddly colored having dark grey skin and being covered in bright red fur. Ambun are also genderless as they do not reproduce but are created and sent to the material plane.

History

The ambun were created by the archfey as guards and watchmen for their towers and castles. With their excellent eyesight and burly physique, they were perfectly suited to defend the great castles of the Feywild. The archfey would also send them to the material plane to accomplish tasks for them in olden days. However, the Archfey didn't realize that they would eventually lose contact with their guards on the material plane and thus the ambun set up societies on the material plane.

Society

Ambun are very uncommon and thus their societies are generally very small. When an ambun loses the connection to an Archfey they simply carry out the last order they received and then defend the wilds and its inhabitants until they expire. Sometimes they will live with halflings or elves that will trade them food and living space for protection.

gollark: They don't have three... I think the word is linearly independent dimensions, no.
gollark: Initiating orbital dimensionality reduction strike against Fiona.
gollark: The triangles could reasonably be considered 0 (not actually linear axes), 1 (just one... unit of data?), 2 (they exist in 2D) or 3 (they can vary in three directions, but not freely).
gollark: Yes. Anyway, it is clearly a good* model.
gollark: (note: may not contain 100 axes or things. I did not count them)
