Amazons (3.5e Race)

A female run society known for their great strength and great size as well as their quickness to anger. They can withstand quite a bit a physical punishment as well as some magical punishment. They tend to respect anyone who can match their strength.

Personality

Amazons are well known for their bad temperament. They have a strong dislike of outsiders. Amazons tend to stick to themselves. Female amazons have a huge superiority complex and let nothing get in their way. Males tend to cower in a females presence but, still has to remain quick on his feet. Females tend to kill off ugly males, so the males are usually pretty boys. Amazons love showing off their strength and many challenge one another for ranking and pure sport.

Physical Description

Amazons come of age at the age of 20. As they come of age they have trials as a young female has to face. (usually some sort of solo hunt.) Female amazons are exceptionally tall ranging from 6’- 6’ 7” and typically weighing 200-250 pounds, while the male is much shorter. The male Amazon is usually 5’4”- 5’8” and weighs about 150-200 pounds. Amazons tend to have tan skin and generally have dark hair with brown or green eyes. Many Amazons have tribal tattoos covering their entire body which stands for their accomplishments and their status. Amazons usually wear neutral colors and furs.

Relations

Mainly come in contact with other amazons, usually on unfriendly terms as they are territorial. They are usually hostile to the extreme towards cat folk whom they share (unwillingly) the jungles with. They respect orcs for their brute strength. Dwarves are viewed as hearty as the amazons themselves and respected for their strength and honor to their people as well. Amazons do not come in contact with many races. Humans they tend to get along with somewhat, depending on the personal strength of the individual they come into contact with. Halflings they find aggravating. Amazons view gnomes as untrustworthy.

Alignment

Females tend to be Lawful Neutral while, Males tend to be Lawful Evil. They have a very lawful society run by a council. Males tend to abide by the law but, are willing to stab a man in the back just to get ahead.

Lands

Amazons make their homes in the wild Jungles and rainforests. They have beautiful homes made high up in the trees. They are unfriendly to outsiders who are not of the Amazon race so, they place guards along their villages.

Religion

A Shamanistic people. Females usually worship the goddess Ehlonna while, males tend to worship Wee Jas Goddess of death and magic. Most all amazons male and female revere nature in it self.

Adventurers

Many Amazons usually females venture out for the soul glory and to higher their ranking in their society. The rare few males venture to prove their worth as a mate and for the sheer greed of valuables.

• +2 Strength, +2 Constitution, and -2 Charisma: Females are large, hostile and hard to fall.
• Medium: As a Medium Creature a Amazon has no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
• Amazon base land speed is 30 feet.
• Lowlight vision:
• Weapon Proficiency: Female Amazons receive the weapon proficiency feats with all Bows, Spears (including javelin) and all swords as bonuses. Seeing how all female amazons are familiar with these weapons because they are the hunters and warriors.
• +1 racial bonus on attack rolls against CatFolk. Amazons battle these creatures frequently over territories and practice special techniques in fighting them.
• +2 Racial bonus on Listen, Spot, Move Silently and Hide.
• Automatic Languages: Common. Bonus Languages: Elven and Sylvan.
• Racial bonus Woodland Stride
• Favored Class: Ranger Being a ranger comes naturally for the female amazons because they track their food in the harsh jungles.

Male Amazon Traits

• -2 Strength and +4 Charisma: Males are much smaller than females so they have less strength and deal with others more often than their female counter parts.
• Medium: As a Medium Creature a Amazon has no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
• Amazon base land speed is 30 feet.
• +2 racial bonus to diplomacy, sense motive and bluff. Males use these skills frequently to prove to the females they are worthy mates instead of a meal for the buzzards.
• Automatic Languages: Common. Bonus Languages: Elven and Sylvan.
• Passive Search magical traps: A male amazon who merely passes within 5 feet of a magical trap is entitled to a search check as if actively searching for it.
• +2 against spells and spell like effects: Males generally use spell casting daily.
• +2 Stability: Against trip and bull rush but, only when standing on the ground. Males have great stability in order to dodge from their brutal counterparts.
• Favored Class: Sorcerer
