The Aeroforged were created near the end of the Last War, almost none of them made it out of the factory and those who did make it out never got to go to the battlefield and ended up serving in the same way the Warforged did after the war

Physical Qualities

Aeroforged are smaller than their earth-bound counterparts, and have a lighter make to accommodate their primary function of flight. Their overall appearance is similar to a common Warforged, but they have methods of flight-- usually thrusters or propellers, magical or mundane-- affixed to strategic points on their bodies, primarily the feet, hips, and shoulders. Also, their bodies are more streamlined to allow them greater aerial mobility.

Attitudes and Beliefs

Much like their earth-dwelling cousins, the Aeroforged are reserved and pensive, hiding emotions behind expressionless metal faces. Many Aeroforged question the purpose behind their existence and consider wether or not they have souls. An Aeroforged often has limited experiences in the world, having spent its existence assigned to one specific duty. Aeroforged also enjoy working, they take pride in their jobs and they dislike idleness and failure more than other races do.

Aeroforged Communities

Aeroforged are experiments, like most other models of warforged. They revel in the open skies, and despise being confined to anywhere underground. Despite this, some become good adventurers, even finding ways to use their aerial superiority underground. Such Aeroforged are rare though, and they are considered by their fellow Aeroforged to be oddballs.

Aeroforged Adventurers

Aeroforged favor the Ranger, Rogue, and Fighter classes. Three sample Aeroforged adventurers are described below.

82d-6 is an Aeroforged fighter. Its existence has been plagued with questions, which it has tried to ignore. However, its inferiority is beginning to get to it, and it is now seeking answers. It has joined a group of adventurers to help find the answers it seeks, all while keeping its motives hidden.

Fury is an Aeroforged ranger and marksman. While the body itself lacks a gender, it identifies as male, and is prone to overreaction to people referring to him as either genderless or "just a machine". He has, for the past decade, been searching for purpose, and when he heard of a group of adventurers that were attempting to topple the lord of a nearby country, he began his endeavor to assist them.

Sol is an aeroforged rogue. Despite being constructed with a more masculine form, the unit identifies as female. Her comparatively long life has led to her becoming fully sentient, and she has been searching for others like her for the past year.

Roleplaying an Aeroforged

When creating an aeroforged adventurer, here are a few points to consider.

  • To be a machine built for the skies.
  • To have a natural edge on most organic races.
  • To be a creature searching for the meaning of your existence
