Abdeel

Just as the abishai were mortals who won Tiamat’s favor, each abdeel was once a noble paladin who gained favor with Bahamut before death and, as a reward, found their souls transformed into powerful angel-like beings to serve him.
Bringers of Light. Abdeel are Bahamut’s emissaries, just as the abishai are to Tiamat, representing his interest across the multiverse. As such, abdeel are also compared strongly to Angels, of which they serve a similar function too. As a result, they often come in conflict with the abishai, like how Bahamut does with Tiamat. Regardless, their function under Bahamut is similar to the abishai’s under Tiamat, from the simple communication between paladins or worshippers, to greater tasks, like leading large groups and the destruction of evil entities. All across the spectrum, the abdeel are feverishly loyal to Bahamut, easily willing to sacrifice themselves.
Angels in Scales. Abdeel are Bahamut’s equivalent to angels, meaning they are exclusively subservient to him (unless he commands of them otherwise). Other gods may enlist the assistance of abdeel when their interests coincide with Bahamut’s, but for the most part, these draconic angels remain with the Platinum Dragons sphere of influence as most gods have angels of their own.

gollark: Ah well.
gollark: Maybe we should have done finite numbers only.
gollark: Too bad.
