5e Spell Add Instructions

If necessary please use the "Watch this page" checkbox before creating the page. Keep in mind "my preferences" "E-mail me when a page I'm watching is changed". Your username or IP address will be recorded in the new pages history for authorship purposes.

If you are on an edit page of an existing page or seeing an "oops" message that means either that page name is already used or you forgot to add the name of the page.

Fill in the values after the equal signs, and replace the comments or half-comments (the text starting with <!-- or <!- and ending with --> or ->) with your own descriptive text or the required text.

5e Spells

  • D&D 5e doesn't have caster levels. Spells should not scale in power with the caster's character level or class level, except for cantrips.
  • A spell with powerful effects than are longer than "instantaneous" should almost always require concentration to maintain the effect.
  • Keep in mind that certain classes should not be able to cast certain kinds of spells. Wizards can't cast healing spells, warlocks can't cast a spell with a duration over 1 hour long, rangers can't cast flashy arcane spells, etc.
  • Any spell you submit should not be inherently more powerful than existing official spells of the same level. Please compare level, damage, and other effects to 5e SRD:Spells when possible.

For further guidance, please see Spell Design (5e Guideline).

gollark: https://pastebin.com/pihKZjCkHere's my code, still WIP.
gollark: I use multer in my code, which actually uses busboy internally too.
gollark: ```javascriptbusboy.extend(app, { // body and multipart file upload parsing: upload: true, path: UPLOAD_DIR, limits: { // stuff goes here }});```
gollark: See the "limits" section.https://www.npmjs.com/package/busboy
gollark: Er, hold on while I find lemmmy's code again.
