Remini

Remini, short for Retro Gemini, is a self-constructing puffer assembled by Michael Simkin on April 14, 2019.[1] It uses the same single-channel/slow-salvo construction mechanism as the 0E0P metacell (see above), but it is built from classic period-30 circuitry instead of stable Spartan circuits.

The presence or absence of gliders in an intermittent p30 stream turns out to be enough to allow for universal control of a construction-arm elbow. Thus the Remini is an implementation of modern single-channel construction methods using components available in the 1970s.
