R49
R49 is a dependent elementary conduit, discovered by Luka Okanishi on October 4, 2019 based on a reaction by Entity Valkyrie.[1] After 49 ticks, it produces a Herschel turned right with a displacement of (-1, 22). Its recovery time is 59 ticks.

It is notable that unlike other dependent conduits such as Lx200, this conduit starts with a five-tick Herschel predecessor instead of three. It is the first such conduit.[citation needed] After reacting with the bait block and other catalysts, an R-pentomino emerges and proceeds in a BFx59H reaction.
The pattern shown in the infobox has a ghost Herschel marking the output location. A second copy of the conduit is included in the pattern, to the left of the working copy, with a ghost Herschel marking the correct input location.

The Herschel loop made of four copies of this conduit is the second smallest in terms of bounding box, surpassing the previous record holder period-256 glider gun.
