Multistate rule
A multistate rule is, broadly speaking, any cellular automaton in which cells can exist in more than two states.
Types of multistate rules
Various kinds of multistate rules have been proposed or investigated, among them:
- BSFKL and BSFK rules.
- Colourised Life, including Immigration, Quadlife and Niemiec's Life.
- Generations rules.
- Larger than Life Generations rules.
- Polystate Life rules.
- Reverse Generations ("snoitareneG") rules.
