Monomer
A monomer is a version of a pattern which contains only a single copy of a sub-pattern in order to produce a stable object. Examples include 66P13 and the monomerized version of 68P9, the latter of which was used to create the p9 bouncer. A version which uses multiple copies is known as a polymer. More specifically, a version using two copies is called a dimer, three is a trimer, four is a tetramer, and so on, based on Greek number prefixes.
