Maximum volatility gun
The maximum volatility gun is a single-barrelled period-177 glider gun found by Jason Summers on October 22, 2009,[1] using many copies of Karel's p177 to generate gliders via pairs of passing spaceships in an out of the blue reaction. Most of the gliders are then reflected back to rebuild the spaceship stream.

This is one of only a few known guns in Conway's Game of Life with volatility 1, i.e. guns in which every single cell oscillates.
